Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, fiends, and dark forces increasing in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that having everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three smaller tables: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a traditionally charged battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, striking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer is familiar with the region and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group reach locations they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The character are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the combat party will not appear the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Explorers and Planners tables.
