Darden Check

Bear biologist Brad Young presents local pilot Charlie Darden with a check for supporting black bear restoration in Mississippi by conducting aerial radio-telemetry for MDWFP

BEaR is a project-based group and our members take part in or lead numerous projects in cooperation with other organizations. All BEaR activities and finances are managed by projects that address specific programs.  Current projects include: the Great Delta Bear Affair, creating a BEaR display for trade shows and educational purposes, writing letters in support of state conservation measures, and supporting MDWFP in black bear research.

Anyone may submit a project proposal at any time using standard format. BEaR members submit project proposals directly to the President and become project leaders responsible for that project.  Non-BEaR members must have a member sponsor the proposal.  Sponsors will have the same duties and responsibilities as project leaders. The President reviews project proposals and submits them to the Executive Committee for final action (e.g., accept, reject, and recommend revision).

If you are interested in sponsoring a project that will aid in black bear restoration in Mississippi, please contact us at info@msbear.org and/or fill out the Project Proposal Form and bring it to a meeting or send it to:
